UPDATE: This event has been cancelled due to the rainstorm happening Friday night through Sunday morning. Our next event will be Saturday, February 2nd, 2019 at 9:00 am to 11:00 am. We are so sorry to be cancelling but hope you understand. Yay for rain!
This volunteer restoration event will be held at the entrance of the Fillmore Fish Hatchery, also known as the Sespe Cienega. This site is a gateway to future restoration efforts that are well underway on properties adjacent to the Fish Hatchery property that include Arundo removal from 175 contiguous acres in the watershed.
The event will be held from 9:00-11:00. Stay after to learn about the native plants in the garden. We will be doing any of the following tasks: weed removal, plant installation, fence installation, and mulching. Some are light tasks, others heavy duty. All can be dirty, dusty, hot or muddy! All ages welcome, 14 and under must be accompanied by adult.
DIRECTIONS TO THE FILLMORE FISH HATCHERY:
From Ventura: Head East on CA-126 for approximately 25 miles. Follow signs for the Fillmore Fish Hatchery and turn right onto 612 E. Telegraph Rd, Fillmore, CA 93015.
